Activities to Date
- Passed a Black Lives Matters statement of support (Fall 2020)
- Developed a section of the department website devoted to resources promoting student awareness and engagement with social justice issues (Fall 2020)
- Created a standing committee (as opposed to an ad hoc committee) comprised of faculty, students, and staff who are committed to issues surrounding social justice, cultural sensitivity and belonging.
- Organized and co-sponsored Dr. Kecia Thomas’s Distinguished Lecture Series talk on diversity in academia. (Spring 2022)
- Created and continues to sponsor the Diversity, Inclusion, and Student Success: Pathways to Graduate School and Beyond symposium (2021-present)
